Would you like to have a more even complexion? Do you have skin discoloration from sun damage or rosacea? You can dramatically improve your skin’s complexion, color and texture with BBL treatments. By reducing or even eliminating sun and age spots, brown spots and rosacea in minutes — with no downtime afterward — BBL helps restore your skin and keep you looking younger.
What is BBL?
BroadBand Light (BBL)™ is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market. It sets new standards in treating skin conditions associated with aging, active life styles, and sun damage. BBL has the ability to provide dermal renewal and the treatment of pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, and acne. It’s non-invasive, quick and there typically is no downtime.
Most often used for the face, chest, neck and back of the hands BBL (BroadBand Light) treatments turn back the clock, eliminating the signs of aging. BBL can also reduce or eliminate brown spots and freckles due to sun damage and/or redness associated with rosacea.
Typically, each treatment produces at least 50% improvement. Since there is no recuperation time, patients return to work and normal activities the same day. The dark spots flake off over the next 7-10 days.
Candidates for BBL
We fine tune BBL for your skin type and for your desired results. The long-term effects have been proven in most skin types, including people with olive to darker skin. Men, women, fair, dark… almost anyone can enjoy the benefits of BBL for:
- Pigmented lesions, such as freckles and age spots
- Vascular lesions, such as red blemishes including spider veins and rosacea
- Hair Removal
- Skin Texture
What to Expect
An optional topical numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to treatment. During the procedure, your eyes will be protected with safety goggles. Light energy is delivered into the skin creating a bright flash of light. You may feel a quick, warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated.
Immediately following the procedure, you may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions, you will see a darkening of the treated area followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, pores will be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade.
Sunscreen is especially important after a BBL treatment to protect the skin. A skin care regimen will be discussed with you.
The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. We will develop a treatment plan based on the improvement you desire. Regular treatments—at least once a year—have been proven to make patients look ten years younger than when they first started BBL treatments.
